What is the Process for FSSAI License Renewal?
An FSSAI/Food License is the single biggest license that Food Business Operators needs to obtain for carrying out their business in India. Obtaining a Food License is essentially a prerequisite but renewing your FSSAI Food License is equally important.
The FSSAI/Food License does have a validity of 1 to 5 years depending on the number of years the food operator chooses. The cost of license depends upon the number of years the food operator has applied for. If the number of years the food operator has applied for is more, the cost of the license will increase. One needs to apply for the FSSAI License Renewal at least 30 days prior to the expiration of the existing license as per the FSSAI guidelines. If the license if not renewed prior to the expiry time, the FSSAI would levy a penalty. Hence, it is imperative to renew the FSSAI/Food License on time.
